YardNine has grown its London-based team with the appointment of Nikos Michalakis as Associate Director further enhancing the business’s in-house strategic project management capabilities, led by YardNine director and co-founder, Campbell MacDougall.

Nikos brings more than fifteen years of experience in the sector and joins YardNine from Gardiner & Theobald, where he has been a part of the cost management and project management team for over five years. Prior to this, he spent nearly ten years as a project surveyor at Overbury. Specialising in the office sector, Nikos also has experience in the delivery of industrial, hospitality and leisure developments.

Nikos’ appointment follows a period of growth for YardNine, with the current development pipeline valued at more than £2 billion. This includes Edenica, a new 12-storey office development at 100 Fetter Lane, and 50 Fenchurch Street, a landmark 650,000 sqft office development in the City of London; and a 369 bed hotel In Paddington.  YardNine has also successfully delivered EightyFen, the now fully-let 240,000 sq ft Grade A office development in the City of London, and Fifty Paddington, which comprises 75,000 sq ft of grade A office space and 10,000 sq ft of retail space.

Campbell MacDougall, Director of YardNine said: “A key differentiator for YardNine has always been our in-house construction capabilities, and this has been a crucial part of our success as the broader economic and development landscape has changed in recent years. The addition of Nikos to the team will not only boost this resource as we approach our current development pipeline, but it also puts us in a strong position as we look to further add to this with more market-leading projects in London.”

Nikos Michalakis said: “This was an exciting opportunity to join a company that understands and values the strategic importance of being able to advise clients throughout the various stages of the development process. I am thrilled to be joining the team.”
