The Rex Building

Office
75,000 sq ft

London EC4
Completed

Partner:
UBS Triton Property Fund

The project involved a freehold/leasehold swap with the City of London’s Bridge House Estate following the acquisition of part of the site in 2005. The subsequent securing of planning consent of 75,000 sqft of offices behind a retained façade delivered high quality space in this undeveloped part of Queen Street.

The scheme included part façade retention and was completed in November 2008 on time and on budget. The construction of the project required the complex management of retained structures as well as new build elements. Along with third party rights the project required archaeological investigations and working in close proximity of the St Michael Paternoster Church and much-loved Whittington Gardens.

Throughout the project our team worked closely with both UBS and the City of London Corporation to manage all stakeholder interest and deliver the best possible scheme.

The building, which offers high quality and efficient office space from 9,944 – 75,000 sqft with average floors of 12,500 sqft, was let in its entirety to a single tenant.
